25 games to watch on TV The 2017 college football season is finally upon us.
There are some huge non-conference matchups through Labor Day.

The Heat Index takes a look at several intriguing matchups:
Saturday, Aug. 26
Oregon State at Colorado State: CBS Sports Network, 11:30 a.m.
The Rams went 7-6 in 2016 and face a tough non-conference start to season. They also play Colorado and Alabama. Oregon State agreed to open the Ram’s new on-campus stadium.
South Florida at San Jose State: CBS Sports Network, 4:30 p.m.
South Florida went 11-2 a year ago and could be poised for some big things in the American Athletic Conference.
It has also has deals to stream niche sports like championship surfing and CrossFit competitions. Some Major League Baseball and NBA have been available on Facebook, but it did not have exclusive rights to those. The social network giant attempted to make a deal to stream a few NFL games last season, but the league ended up working with Twitter.
Rice vs. Stanford (Sydney): ESPN, 7 p.m.
Stanford has high hopes for the 2017 season, but has to open the year in Australia. The Pac-12 can’t afford a slip up here.

Thursday, Aug. 31
North Dakota at Utah: Pac-12 Networks, 4:30 p.m.
North Dakota is a FCS school, but it went 9-3 a year ago. Still, playing in Salt Lake City is no easy task.
Tulsa at Oklahoma State: FS1, 4:30 p.m.
